There are a lot of compelling reasons to purchase a 2nd home in the current environment.  I enjoyed reading this recent article in the Wall Street Journal, Vacation Homes: Why It May Be Time To Buy, and I feel strongly that the Truckee and Lake Tahoe markets fall into the "blue chip" category.  There are great deals and great interest rates to be had and more importantly great times to be had for you and your family.
