Through the newspaper, I just found out about a great collaboration between the Tahoe Fund and local ski resorts.  The Tahoe Fund is a non profit which helps support the building of trails and parks around the Lake Tahoe / Truckee region.  Along with ski areas such as Squaw Valley, Northstar, Alpine Meadows, Sugar Bowl, Tahoe Donner, Homewood, Kirkwood, and Heavenly, the Tahoe Fund created a program called "Plates for Powder."  The premise is simple, California or Nevada residents can purchase a "Lake Tahoe" license plate and the ski resorts will reward you with one day of free skiing.  For more details, check out these links:
