Tahoe Donner is well known for its diverse ammenities for the whole family.  One of my favorite Tahoe Donner events is "Family Movie Night" which is a free event, at Northwoods Clubhouse, held Friday nights at 6:30 pm. 

I recently attended a showing of "Toy Story 3" with a friend and her kids.  We all had a great time and did it on a very reasonable budget.  We showed up a little before 6 o'clock and ordered some pizza and drinks from Pizza On The Hill.  We were very pleasantly surprised to see the place was buzzing with activity.  There was easily 10 or 12 families present and upwards of 20 kids.  We enjoyed our Pizza, and then sat down to watch the movie.  They had a great set up with a large screen hanging from the ceiling and a decent sound system.  There was plenty of seating on couches and other seats which were much more comfortable than you'd find in a typical theatre.  It was a great environment for the kids because they could sit with their friends, but also have the ability to get up and move around without interrupting the movie.  The TD employees were very hospitable and made it easy for the adults to enjoy a beer or glass of wine and relax. 

All in all, it was a great experience and I'd recommend it over taking your family to the theatre.  This month, Tahoe Donner Family Movie Night has the following schedule (Friday nights, 6:30pm):
