Maybe the powder isn't quite as deep as mid winter, but that doesn't mean skiing isn't every bit as fun in April and May.  It has always fascinated me that so many people hang their skis up at this time of year and miss out on some of the most fun days the local ski areas have to offer.  Spring skiing is truly unique and incredible.  In many ways, it's my favorite time of year to hit the slopes.

Gone are the layers of clothes and face masks.  Gone is the flat light and high winds.  Here to enjoy are the sunshine, warm temperatures, corn snow, and tons of fun events at the resorts.  Alpine Meadows has long been touted as the spring skiing mecca, but I think Squaw Valley takes things to another level.  Not only do you have world class corn snow comparable to that at Alpine, but you also have the high camp lagoon, views of Lake Tahoe, and and tons of fun events and live musice to enjoy after you take your boots off.  A spring day at Squaw Valley is truly a full day, and it can be enjoyed just as much by those family members who don't even want to ski!  Here is a list of the great events you'll want to catch this spring at Squaw:  Squaw Valley Spring Events
