Anyone who lives here knows that Truckee is a community in the truest sense of the word.  People in this town devote an incredible amount of time to the community, and especially to local youth programs.  Two of the better known entities for local youth are Kidzone and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of North Lake Tahoe.  Each of these groups has some exciting events currently going on which were recently highlighted in the newspaper.

Kidzone has a "fun" fundraiser coming up on March 12th as a part of Snowfest.  The "Bump and Jump" party is sure to be a good time and all the proceeds go to the Kidzone organization.

Also, Alpine Meadows and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of North Lake tahoe are combining forces to help teach some local kids how to ski.
