In an exciting change to the Lake Tahoe ski landscape, Vail Resorts completed an acquisition of Northstar at Tahoe yesterday.  In my opinion, this is yet another huge step in a decade plus effort by Northstar to be recognized as a world class ski destination.  Vail Resorts obviously has huge brand recognition in the ski industry, as it owns famous Colorado resorts such as Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone Resorts.  Vail Resorts has held Heavenly Valley as its only California resort until this acquisition.  I beleive this will be a positive change not only for Northstar, as a ski resort, but also a positive for owners of homes and real estate within Northstar.  For more information on this story, take a look at the Sierra Sun article, Vail Resorts Acquires Northstar at Tahoe.
